Thermocouple test caps developed to verify the continuing accuracy of any type K thermocouple thermometer with a 0.1 or 1°C resolution, irrespective of manufacturer. Each test cap electronically simulates a fixed temperature with an accuracy of ±0.4°C, enabling inspectors or managers to check the accuracy of each instrument at a known point without the need for specialised equipment or conversion tables.

Standard test caps are available to simulate -18, 0, +3, +70 or +100°C. Each test cap is supplied with a UKAS Certificate of Calibration which indicates deviations from standards at a specific temperature.
