Tens of thousands of Thermapens are in use all around the world. Chefs, caterers, food processors, laboratory technicians, plumbers and many other industries like the convenience, reliability and accuracy that makes the Thermapen one of the most popular of all professional thermometers.
The Thermapen digital thermometer utilises a type K thermocouple sensor that is faster to respond to changes in temperature than most comparable thermometers. This is due to the thermocouple sensor's small physical size; being small in size also allows minimal immersion depth. The other significant benefit of using a thermocouple sensor is the durable and robust nature of the sensor element.
The Thermapen pocket-sized thermometer incorporates a foldaway probe for simple, one-handed operation and there are no clumsy or messy cables to inhibit the thermometer during use. The probe folds aways for safe storage andtransportation.

The Thermapen thermometers have been approved by NSF's strict standards and its product certification programmes. From extensive product testing and material analysis to unannounced plant inspections, NSF is the only third-party testing organisation to undertake a complete evaluation of every aspect of a product's development before it can earn NSF's certification.
NSF certification is not a one-time activity, they do not just test a single model of a product and give it their okay. The NSF certification programme requires regular on-site inspections of manufacturing facilities. In addition, certified products, like the Thermapen, are periodically re-tested against the requirements of the most current version of the applicable national standard. If for any reason a product fails to meet one or more of NSF's certification criteria, NSF will take whatever enforcement actions they deem necessary to protect the customer including product recall, public notification or de-certification. If a performance claim is being made for a product, such as the Thermapen thermometers, NSF ensures that the product is actually able to meet that specification.
